"Small coffee please."
My voice was soft as it flowed from my perfect lips, my slender fingers shuffling through my wallet for the correct amount of change. I handed it to the cashier as she passed me my coffee, thanking her with a quick nod. As I moved aside, my eyes scanned the small shop, seeing an empty table in the corner by the window. The place was quite busy and crowded, not the ideal studying spot, but heck I honestly didn't feel like doing it anyway.
"Excuse me."
I said, passing a guy who was blocking my way to the table. He didn't move until he turned around to look at me as I slid my sunglasses atop my head, silky hair framing my flawless face. He stared for a moment, before stepping aside as he gawked at me. Jeez, guys were such pigs.
Yeah, okay, I was used to it.
Finally I reached my table, setting down my text books that I had been lugging around since I left class. Thank god I was in my final year of high school. As I sat down in the chair, I flipped open the text book and began to scan the pages, but really wasn't taking anything in. With a sigh I slammed it shut once again, taking a sip of my coffee as I drummed my fingers against the edge of the table.
Turning my head out the window, I watched people as they passed by, some alive, some undead. To be completely honest, I tried to keep my distance from the undead. It's not like I dissed them or bullied them like many of the others did... but it's not like I would ever come into contact with them.

I noticed Ava on the other side of the window, as I strolled down the street absently. Window shopping. Neat. I spun around, pushing open the door with a swift flick of my wrist. As I approached, I slid a chair out from under the table and sat beside her.
The left side of my mouth twitched uneasily into a smile, as I turned to face her. "Ava, hey. You, uh, need any help with that?" I watched, running my fingers through my hair, which I'd just dyed yesterday, and waiting for her to reply.
It was a known fact that Ava was one of the best looking girl in school - the guys would do anything to get with her, or, as my friend had said, get in her. I smirked at the thought. He had a point, sure, but that was a little... Blunt? Rude?
Oh, but hell... It was worth a try.

Ava, hey. You, uh, need any help with that?
I looked over as the guy I recalled as Eli sat beside me, his mouth twitching in an uneasy smile. With a soft laugh I shook my head, pushing my textbooks away, glancing at him as he ran a hand through his hair. I wasn't going to lie, he had a certain look about him that caught my eye; which was saying a lot since I had my pick of pretty much any guy out there.
"No, actually trying to avoid it."
I glanced toward him with an easy smile, reaching up with slender fingers to pull the sunglasses atop my head and set them on the table, my soft wavy hair resting against my shoulders. I bit my lip hesitantly at first, but decided I deserved to have some fun.
"Besides, who wants to focus on this when there is so much more I am interested in?"
I gave a light smirk, sitting back in my chair to get a better look at Eli who sat next to me. My eyes were like glistening pools at I stared at him, my finger reaching up to play with a strand of my silky hair. I may have been over doing it a bit, but hell it couldn't hurt, right?

I blinked, slightly taken aback at her comment. She was actually going with it. As she spoke, I bit my bottom lip to the point of it almost bleeding, to avoid saying something stupid before it was too late.
"Well, we could go back to my place... I could help you study, if you like."
The words rolled smoothly off my tongue as I shifted in my seat, unsure what to do with myself. It was impressive to get her to talk to you, let alone say something like that. I sighed, diverting my eyes as she started to twirl her hair sweetly.
Damn.

Well, we could go back to my place... I could help you study, if you like.
I watched with a flirty smile as he shifted in his seat, and I knew he wasn't really sure what to do with himself at that point. Hm. Okay, so I didn't really know him that well. So I'd been invited to many places and never gone. So what? I think I was allowed to have a bit of fun, don't you think?
"Hm.."
I tapped my fingers against the table, pretending to think about his offer with horrible acting skills. I brushed my hair out from my eyes, giving him a smirk before replying.
"Sure, why not?"
I winked before pulling my books from the table and onto my lap, finger still entangled within my silky wavy hair as I waited for his reaction.

"Hm... Sure, why not?"
Drumming my fingers idly against the table, I waited for Ava to gather her things and stand up, before rising from my seat. I swallowed nervously as we walked out toward the parking lot. Crap. I'd driven my hearse here. I wasn't sure how she felt about Morty, but I wasn't really up for taking any chances.
"Uhm," I started, a playful grimace crossing my expression. "Please excuse the hearse."
As I spoke, I unlocked the door and held it open for her. After a moment, I closed the door gently, slipping to the driver's side and revving the engine. Home was that way, right? I looked around, shaking a lock of hair out of my face.
See what she did to me?

Uhm, please excuse the hearse.
I gave a soft laugh and shook my head as he held the door open for me. Giving him an easy glance as I slid into the seat, pulling the seatbelt to hear it click in the holder. As he got in and started the vehicle, and bit my lip flirtatiously, running slender fingers through my wavy hair. The hearse didn't faze me; these days people were sickeningly boring with their oh so similar cars, that it was nice to meet someone with some diversity in their life. Heck, sometimes I got tired of being my same, boring self.
"So, where do you live?"
I asked, my eyes never really wandering from him, my hands folded lightly in my lap, on top of my oh so annoying text books. Well, I must say that I was glad I had agreed to go with him. I was swamped with school work seemingly all the time, and when I did hang out with anyone, it was the same, boring routine.
Well, I think it was about time I shook things up a bit.

Ava's voice rang from the other side of the car, and I could see her delicate lips move quickly as she spoke. I had to think for a moment, being as directionally challenged as I am, before replying to her inquiry.
"Just over there," I said softly, nodding toward a string of apartment buildings down the road.
I have to admit - I drive fast. We were almost to my house by now, and I watched impatiently as my building drew slowly closer. After a moment, we were there. Stepping gently on the brake, I pulled into the parking lot.
"A couple stories up from here," I muttered, slipping out of the car and walking hastily to the other side to meet her.

Just over there.
My eyes followed his gesture, seeing the rows of tall apartment buildings that lined the roads. I nodded simply, my eyes turning to look had him. Noticing we had stopped, I glanced out to see what I figured was his apartment building. A couple stories up from here. He muttered, slipping out from the car and coming around the vehicle to meet me. I opened the door, stepping out with text books in hand, closing the door behind me, giving him a flirty smile.
My hand dropped to my side as I stepped beside him, hand non-chalantly intertwining with his as I gave him another glance.
Shall we, Mr. Stoller?"
I gestured up to the apartments, giving a soft smirk as I began to walk towards the doors.

"Shall we, Mr. Stoller?"
As her thin, cool fingers intertwined with mine, my heart skipped a beat. Stopping at the revolving door, I motioned politely for her to go first. "After you, love." All was silent, except for the soft murmur of the door as it spun in its tracks.
"Mine's 32B," I said softly, taking Ava's textbooks as we approached the elevator. They were heavy, but it was nothing I wasn't used to. School in itself was a workout, I had to admit. Maybe we could take a break from studying for a while - education could take over a student's life, that was for sure.
The elevator beeped loudly as it reached the lobby, drawing me out of my thoughts. It was cold outside, and as a small girl entered the lobby, it sent a swell of icy winter air into the room. I wrapped my jacket around my slim figure with shivering hands as I watched the elevator doors open slowly.

I stepped ahead of him, entering the revolving doors before stepping out into the lobby of the apartments. Mine's 32B. I let him take the books from my arms, letting them cross against my chest as a shiver ran up my spine. A girl walked in, bring the cold, wintery air with her, as I glanced up at the numbers above the elevator door.
As it climbed the floors, another loud beep sounded in the small area, and my dark eyes stared back up at the numbers, seeing Eli's floor staring back at me. I stood as the doors opened in front of us slowly, and I took Eli's hand in mine once again as I stepped from the elevator.
It was odd, really. Here I was, going to Eli Stoller's house who I barely knew, yet it felt good to do something out of the norm. It was like I did the same thing every single day, hung out with the same people, and in truth, this was exactly what I needed.

As the elevator lurched to a stop, I pressed the door open button anxiously - after having been stuck in this elevator more than once, I can't say I trust it. The doors swung open slowly, and I stepped out before they were all the way through. A group of people were waiting on the other side, and I weaved my way past them, textbooks in one hand and Ava's cool hand in the other.
The halls were crowded today, and it kind of discouraged me from saying anything to her, so I simply strolled wordlessly up to my door. With a subtle click, the door unlocked. I nodded, letting Ava go ahead of me, holding the door with my foot.
My apartment wasn't much, but the simple style was something I had grown used to by now. After setting Ava's books gently on the table, I reached to grab the over-sized set of headphones that rested around my neck, and set them next to the stack of textbooks.
"So, what do you want to work on first?"

I stepped into his apartment as he held the door for me, taking a glance around. It was a simple, modern style that was inviting yet intricate at the same time. So, what to you want to work on first? I turned around to face him, pondering his question. In truth, I didn't feel like working on anything. School work had been taking up a lot of my life lately, and I felt like I needed... well... a break. But I figured it was a start.
"Biology?"
I suggested, letting my elbows rest against the counter reaching for my textbooks. A whining sort of meow like sound broke me from my thoughts, as I turned around to see a little black cat trotting into the room. I smiled as I saw her, and bent to my knee as she walked cautiously to me.
"Is this your cat?"
I asked, picking her up as she began to purr from all the attention. My slender fingers scratched under her chin which she intentionally lifted, closing her eyes in pure enjoyment.
***haha okay! That's kinda how I pictured it too. Oh btw, i'm just going to say that Allie isn't there for now, maybe I will bring her in later ***

I nodded, reaching for the stack of books. Sitting on top was a textbook labeled biology, and I picked it up with trembling fingers. "Is this your cat?" Taken aback at first, I turned to see Ava stroking Allie's cat, Spider, underneath her chin.
"Oh, no, that's my roommate's... Allie. But, she's not here right now," I said softly, winking nonchalantly. As we moved toward the counter, I pulled two stools away from the edge and motioned for her to sit.
The books looked so uninviting, though I knew they were necessary, I'm sure there were better things for us to do, right? I shifted closer to Ava, flipping open to the chapter we'd been last working on in class.
"So, um... Biology?"

Oh, no, that's my roommate's... Allie. But, she's not here right now.
I raised my eyebrow in a smirk at his wink as I set the cat, Spider, back down on the floor, watching as she trotted off into another room. Stepping aside, I sat in the stool next to him that he had pulled out for me, and watched as he took the text book labeled 'Biology'. So, um... Biology? He opened to the last chapter we had been doing in class, but instead of taking a look at the text book, I looked up from the counter and at Eli.
"I'll be honest; Schoolwork is extremely uninteresting at the moment."
I laughed softly as I took his hand from the text book, shutting it with a familiar thump. Yeah, sure, I had a Biology exam tomorrow. But I had been studying for it all week, and I seriously felt like my head would explode if I tried to pile on more information.
I bit my lip flirtatiously as I looked at him, brushing my hair back from my dark but gleaming eyes. My hand stayed on his as I crossed my legs, still looking at him, pondering his reply.
